Describe storage history without testing the boat
Report how long the boat has been unused, any known damage and which engine, trailer or loose items are included. Unknown condition is useful information; do not run an engine, climb a damaged deck or inspect underneath unstable supports to fill gaps.
For junk boat removal, ask which handling method can be assessed. A hull that cannot be towed on its existing gear does not automatically need cutting, a crane or a flatbed. Suitability and permissions must be reviewed for the proposed method.
Explain the approach to the hull
Show the path from the road to the boat, known gate clearances, turns, ground and visible overhead restrictions. Do not approach utilities, test-tow a trailer or move supports to prepare a route.
Identify who controls entry, any shared driveway arrangements and working-hour limits. For a leased lot, permission from the operator to work on the site is separate from authority to release the vessel. A property deadline does not resolve ownership or missing records.
Give the actual waterside location
If the boat is at a dock, marina or lake access point, identify the actual facility and operator contact. An owner's South Hill address or a nearby lake name does not establish the collection site or permission for commercial extraction.
Describe whether the vessel floats, is grounded or partly submerged. For a sailboat, note mast, rigging and keel details. Ask what recovery, lifting, towing or road transport assessment is needed before anyone attempts to move it; no no-damage result is assumed.
Confirm preparation and receiving acceptance
For boat disposal, ask what the actual recipient accepts and who assesses preparation. Identify fuel, oil, batteries and suspected hazardous contents without opening, draining, discharging or mixing them. Agree which handling tasks are included before transport.
