Stored vessels and uncertain condition
Report known damage, uncertain supports, standing water and anything that prevents ordinary movement. Do not start machinery, climb an unsafe deck or test-tow an old trailer. Known frame, tire, axle or coupling concerns should be disclosed rather than tested.
For junk boat removal, ask whether intact transport, preparation or dismantling can be assessed. A degraded hull does not establish that cutting on the parcel is permitted or that one particular rig is suitable.
Side-yard and shared-lot access
Show the route past buildings and fences, then the gate and turning room to the road. Supply known measurements, ground conditions and safe views of overhead restrictions without approaching utilities or moving supports.
For a leased lot or shared drive, identify the entry contact, working hours and any restrictions on positioning equipment. A new lease or access to the land does not give authority over a boat left by another person. Resolve release questions before collection is agreed.
If the boat is stored at another location
An owner living in South Whittier may have a boat at a separate marina or waterside site. Give that actual location, berth and operator contact rather than a nearby river or coastal facility name. Ask about permission and a suitable working area before proposing commercial recovery.
Describe whether the vessel floats, is grounded or partly submerged. For a sailboat, include mast status, rigging and keel details. Ask which lifting, towing, mast work and transport tasks need assessment; none is automatically included by a service-area description.
Confirm what the recipient will accept
For boat disposal, ask which destination accepts the actual hull or separated materials and who assesses preparation. Identify fuel, oil, batteries and suspected hazardous contents without opening, draining, discharging or mixing them.
