Send dimensions, condition and safe photographs through the estimate form. Explain any deadline and ask whether the required work can be assessed before agreeing to a date.
What is included in the request?
List each vessel and whether its engine, trailer and loose items are included. Report visible damage, standing water, uncertain supports and unknown history without entering an unsafe hull, starting machinery or moving it.
For junk boat removal, ask whether intact transport, preparation or dismantling is proposed. A damaged fiberglass boat does not automatically require on-site cutting or establish that a recycling destination is available.
Access from land
Show the boat's existing position and the route to the exit, including gates, turns, ground and visible overhead restrictions. Give known measurements without approaching utilities or altering supports.
Describe known trailer tire, frame, axle or coupling concerns without test-towing. If a storage operator controls entry, identify the contact, working hours and restrictions. Permission to work on the site is separate from authority over a boat left by another person.
Waterfront requests
For a dock, marina or creek location, provide the actual facility or landowner contact and current berth. Describe whether the vessel floats, is grounded or partly submerged; do not attempt to pump, enter or shift it to prepare collection.
For sailboats, add mast status, rigging and keel details. Ask which recovery, tow, lift and road-transport assessments are required and who may permit the working location. A public launch or regional waterway name does not establish commercial extraction permission or a confirmed access window.
Agree the recipient and preparation
For boat disposal, ask what the actual destination accepts and who assesses preparation. Identify fuel, oil, batteries and suspected hazardous contents without opening, draining, discharging or mixing them.
