Send dimensions, condition, supports and safe photographs through the estimate form. State any deadline and ask about availability before agreeing to a date.
Describe what has to move
Identify hull material and whether the engine, trailer and loose equipment are included. Report visible damage, unknown history, standing water or uncertain supports without entering an unsafe boat or starting machinery.
For junk boat removal, ask which method can be assessed. A damaged hull does not automatically require on-site cutting, and no size, condition or access type is accepted merely from a location-page description.
Access from a yard or storage lot
Show the current supports and path to the exit, known gate clearances, turns, ground and visible overhead restrictions. Do not approach utilities, move supports or climb onto the boat to obtain photographs.
Report known trailer frame, tire, axle or coupling concerns without test-towing. Rolling wheels do not establish roadworthiness. Identify who controls entry and any shared-drive or working-hour restrictions before a method is proposed.
Distinguish a launch listing from a collection arrangement
California State Parks' facility inventory identifies Alviso Marina County Park as a launch facility. That listing does not establish a slip, haul-out service or permission for commercial extraction. Ask the actual operator about suitability and authorization before proposing a working point.
For any waterside request, provide the facility or landowner contact and current vessel position. Describe whether it floats, is grounded or partly submerged; for sailboats, add mast, rigging and keel information. Recovery, tow, lift and road transport need separate scope review.
Preparation and receiving questions
For boat disposal, ask what the actual destination accepts and who assesses preparation. Identify fuel, oil, batteries and suspected hazardous contents without opening, draining, discharging or mixing them.
