Send dimensions, current condition, supports and safe photographs through the estimate form. Explain any deadline and ask about availability before agreeing to a date. A request does not establish every-condition acceptance or an urgent appointment.
A boat ashore: describe the loading position
Identify hull material, known damage and uncertain supports. State whether engines, trailer and loose equipment are included. Show the route to the exit, known gate widths, turns, ground and visible overhead restrictions without climbing the boat, moving supports or approaching utilities.
Report known trailer frame, tire, axle or coupling concerns without test-towing. For junk boat removal, ask which method can be assessed rather than assume a standard tow, flatbed or on-site cutting is suitable.
A boat afloat: supply the berth and operator contact
Give the actual marina, dock or landowner contact and current vessel position. Describe whether the boat floats, is grounded or partly submerged. Do not try to pump, shift or enter an unstable hull to prepare the request.
Ask who may authorize the proposed activity and whether an appropriate working area is available. A public ramp, marina listing or bayfront address does not establish commercial extraction permission, a navigable route or a confirmed access window.
Sailboats and additional handling tasks
For a sailboat, include mast status, rigging, keel and known dimensions. Ask whether mast handling, recovery, towing, lifting and road transport are separate parts of the assessment. Do not disconnect rigging or move existing supports yourself.
Record which preparation, loose-item handling and cleanup are included. Equipment availability and suitability need confirmation for the actual vessel; photographs alone do not ensure the right rig arrives or eliminate delays.
Receiving arrangements and release
For boat disposal, ask what the actual destination accepts and who assesses preparation. Identify fuel, oil, batteries and suspected hazardous contents without opening, draining, discharging or mixing them.
